Introduction
Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC-NAGPUR) is service institution set up under Administrative Control of Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech & Disabilities (Divyangjan) (AYJNISHD) (D), Mumbai, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India with aim of Creating & Developing Resources, Infrastructure & Services required for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the State of Maharashtra. There are National Institutes and other apex bodies in each area of disability in different parts of India under the same Ministry. The ministry has set up CRCs in different parts of India. CRC at Nagpur has become functional since October 2015. Currently CRC-Nagpur is functioning under the Administrative Control of Ali Yawar Jung National Institute of Speech & Disabilities (Divyangjan) (AYJNISHD) (D), Mumbai, apart from undertaking centre based, camp-based rehabilitation, awareness generation, academic & service provision activities it also functions as apex resources centre for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
